Copyright
Copyright laws in the United States give the creator of any content on the internet or otherwise, full rights over their creation. They are the rightful owners of their content, and can apply for an official copyright with the government, to ensure the protection of their property.

The Geekanerd logo is entirely my own creation, however I claim no copyright over my work. Copy it, paste it, do with it as you will.
I am a strong supporter of Creative Commons as an alternative to traditional copyright. They offer many more options for content creators, namely how their works can be distributed.
It would be wise to follow the laws of your respective country, and respect the time and effort that goes into content on the internet.
